I am currently a researcher at the Institute of Ethics in Medicine and Technology de la Technical University of Munich as well as an ethics consultant at Health-Focused AI Consultants de Helmholtz Munich, in Germany. My work focuses on three interconnected areas: bioethics in mental health; emerging technologies and research ethics; and collective health and equity.
These areas of work have been supported by the Fogarty International Centre of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), and by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and Horizon Europe, both of the European Union. I have worked as a consultant with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) of the Organisation of American States (OAS) on processes relating to the discharge of people with mental health conditions, and with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on technical documents concerning bioethics. I have also taken part in activities funded by the Wellcome Trust to raise awareness of the ethical implications of stigma towards people with mental health conditions.
I publish articles in international academic journals, book chapters and books. My book Ethos mental. Bioética para re-pensar la salud mental (Editorial Prometeo, 2022) was awarded the Argentine National Prize in the “psychological essay” category (2023 edition). I have also published books on long-term clinical care and on the gender perspective in language.
I teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in various countries. I have founded and coordinate projects that use art as a means of reflection, such as CollageMente, the art and science installations (CASIs), and the bioethics video podcast from FLACSO Argentina.
