Emerging technologies and research ethics

My research focuses on how to develop medical technologies in an ethical manner and on the principles under which they should be incorporated into practice. I am interested in integrating ethical reflection and practice from the very beginning of the research process. I also examine the ethical implications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and other digital tools, in healthcare contexts. These ideas are reflected and developed in scientific publications, in projects such as art and science installations, and in dialogue with colleagues at the Munich Embedded Ethics and Social Science Hub (MESH), a group I coordinate.
